The Vikingshipmuseum in Roskilde, Denmark was struggling with an outdated logo, website and overall visual identity. We quickly got inspired of all the textures, smells and sounds, when we went to visit the museum. Our biggest wish was to integrate all these sensations into our full multimedia solution.
When we think of vikings, we think of runes! And this is also mirrored in the logos font, which is slighty edited to give the real viking expression. The five shields on the side of the ship symbolizes the five shipwrecks that are exhibiated at the museum.
The logo varies in two types; with or without fill, varying on the size and background. To incoperate the feeling you experience when visiting the museum, we use textures, pictures and videos from the museum as backgrounds all the way through the solution.
The prototype website features easy navigation with scroolpages divided into sections. Furthermore a selection of the most essential pages can be chosen in the top navigation. This way the vikingship museum are able to display all their information in an easily accessible way and ad more pages after need.
